What We Do

The Society of Peer Mentors is a student organization at LSU that focuses on mentoring and leadership for the College of Engineering. Our goal is to help students transition to LSU and the College through a variety of activities and programs.

SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION (SI)

Supplemental instruction provides peer facilitated study sessions for students enrolled in historically difficult sophomore level courses.

ROBOTICS MENTORS

Robotics Peer Mentors provide technical/leadership mentoring to K-12 schools’ robotics teams and host robotics competitions in the Baton Rouge Area.

OUTREACH

Outreach provides an opportunity for local K-12 students to experience engineering through STEM nights, High school outreach days, Kick Off LSU events, and more.

ENCOUNTER ENGINEERING CAMP

Camp eases the transition between high school and college by providing mentors to incoming freshmen students during a week long engineering focused environment.
