I am from Ponchatoula, Louisiana. I am a senior in chemical engineering with a minor in business administration. I went to the Encounter Engineering camp in 2014 which is where I became aware of SPM at LSU. I absolutely loved how involved all of the mentors were and how welcomed I felt to the college of engineering. I am honored to be a mentor not only for my peers but also for the many kids at all of the fun STEM nights I go to. Outside of school I love spending my time outside, reading all kinds of books, and jamming out to upbeat songs in my car!

“An organization, no matter how well designed, is only as good as the people who live and work in it.” -Dee Hock.
With a University as diverse and vast as LSU, I am honored to be a member of Society of Peer Mentors. SPM is not only well designed, but full of bright, enthusiastic leaders who represent the best of LSU College of Engineering. My name is Macie Coker and I serve as the current Treasurer of SPM. In May 2019 I will graduate Mechanical Engineering with minors in Material Science and English. Through my years, I have enjoyed a multitude of organizational involvement. SPM stands far above the rest in my heart for its ability to turn students into leaders and create a familial environment. I hope in my term as an officer, I will be able to share with SPM the joy it has brought into my life and with my fellow officers, accomplish a multitude of milestones for the organization. Aside from academia, I enjoy taking part in anything outdoors, reading, writing, playing music, and laughing. I greatly look forward to the 2018-2019 SPM year and what it holds for not only myself, but each of the members involved in it.
